Coming home from a New Year’s Day walk in the woods with my wife…the weather really started to warm up. It almost felt like early Summer. It was getting windy as we made our way back into town and this wind chime caught our attention…It’s in front of The Northwest Nature Shop, a very cool family owned local business here in Ashland Oregon where we live. There’s a nice little garden out front with a bench and bird feeders…We sat and listened for a while and of course, I couldn’t resist shooting a little video…It starts with a bottom up view of a very cool hanging sculpture they have there and then backs up for a longer view of the chimes. Created on January 1, 2012 using FlipShare.
www.favoritegardenfountains.com The Four Seasons Wind Chime has a colorful, cloisonne-style windcatcher with 4 icons, one for each season. This chime is tuned to the final chord from the 2nd movement of Concerto #3 (Autumn) of Antonio Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. This series of concertos written for violin, strings and basso continuo was first published in 1725. This popular piece has been used in many movies and is a popular wedding processional. One of Vivaldi’s best known works, The Four Seasons is one of the most well known examples of music from the Baroque period. Vivaldi wrote individual sonnets to go with each of the four concertos, with each sonnet consisting of three parts that match the fast – slow – fast of the three concerto’s movements.

Garden & Outdoor Living: Scan Birdhouse & Disc Chimes – as part of the home design series by GeoBeats. The first thing I am going to talk about is what I call the Scan Birdhouse, which is referring to like Scandinavian, minimalist design that I really identify with. I wanted to design a birdhouse that was simple and clean and combined multiple materials in a new and interesting way. The bottom is hand thrown porcelain and the top is a cedar paneled roof that I had made down the street. The suspension is a vegetable dyed leather braided cord. The second design we are going to talk about is product category that I found almost no good looking design in-outdoor wind chimes. I designed very thin porcelain disks that are treated with a glaze so that they can be outdoors year round and suspended them with a thin leather cord. They look amazing in groups and they also make a really lovely noise.
I absolutely LOVE those MT chimes on this elevator! Unfortunately, this elevator is being neglected and is starting to show it. The cab itself shows how heavily the elevator is used and how little attention the elevator is getting. Regardless, the elevator has yet to break in front of a YouTube user. The elevators here really do go through a lot of crap…
